Transforming the World of Learning
ACT is a mission-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people achieve education and workplace success. Grounded in 60 years of research, ACT is a trusted leader in college and career readiness solutions. Each year, ACT serves millions of students, job seekers, schools, government agencies and employers in the US and around the world with learning resources, assessments, research and credentials designed to help them succeed from elementary school through career.
On November 7, 1959, more than 75,000 students took the first ACT test. And now, nearly 1.8 million 2019 graduates around the U.S.—52 percent of the graduating class—took the ACT test during high school.
ACT’s work to transform the very nature of learning and measurement over six decades has helped millions of students and career professionals define and achieve success. This year, on our 60th anniversary, we invite you to follow our journey from our past to our future as we continue to transform ourselves and the ecosystem of learning.
We’ve disrupted the industry once—and we’re ready to do it again.
